Il duo si è formato quando entrambi frequentavano ancora le scuole superiori.cite-ref-4[4] Il primo progetto a cui hanno lavorato è stato un mixtape pubblicato nel 2010 intitolato mwmqThe Better Party, poi seguito da altri due pubblicati nel 2011: mwmgMad Man e mwmwGood News.cite-ref-5[5]cite-ref-6[6] Ai mixtape fanno seguito due album in studio: il duo si fa notare come uno dei migliori emergenti del panorama e inizia a intraprendere delle tournée nel mwpaNord America tra cui una di 40 date assieme al rapper mwpqAb-Soul, membro dell'etichetta discografica mwpgTop Dawg Entertainment. Nel 2015 il duo partecipa come artista ospite al mwpwGO:OD AM tour di mwqaMac Miller.cite-ref-7[7] Tra il 2014 e il 2016 partecipano alla realizzazione delle mwrqcompilation del collettivo di cui fanno parte, Spillage Village.
